Global Planning

Global Planners

Global Planners are provided with visibility of the Global demand for each item and the ability to test and decide which Local Plant(s) should be used to fulfill those demands. It is then used to drive those overall production requirements down to the local plant. The process supports simulations by allowing the user to make adjustments that can then be used in the testing and decision process.

Data from the local plants is provided by the Factory Planning and CrescentOne ERP applications. Production Data for the critical items and critical resources from the local plants are leveraged in the planning process.

The decision as to which requirements are fulfilled by which Local plant can be made manually or automatically (based on pre-defined rules).

Local Planners

Local Planners have a much more a detailed view of actual data, such as Work Orders with ERP Start and End Dates, linked BOMs and Routings, Purchase Orders, Purchase Requisitions, On Hand Inventory, etc.

The Local planner also has detailed data for Capacity, such as Work Centers and Machines.

The local planner receives Production Requests for his factory from the Global planner and plans for the requested quantities to be produced within the required dates. Adjustments for the local market can also be made by this planner. The resulting production plan is placed into CrescentOne where final Orders, Dates, and Quantities are calculated.
